Patch and paint on the Gold Coast

Repairs before the end-of-lease inspection, between holiday guests or before the house goes on the market. We patch the damage and paint it so nobody can find where it was, across the Gold Coast.

Gold Coast

Repairs that disappear under the paint

Patch and paint is the job we're asked for most when a Gold Coast property is changing hands or changing guests. Rentals in Southport and Robina need holes from picture hooks and TV brackets dealt with before the final inspection. Holiday apartments in Surfers Paradise and Burleigh Heads collect luggage knocks and door handle dents between bookings. And homes going on the market anywhere from Hope Island to Helensvale need the small marks fixed before the photos.

In newer homes, matching the paint is often easier than people think. Builders in the northern estates often leave a colour schedule, and sometimes leftover tins in the garage, so we can use the same colour and sheen. In older homes, the colour has often been changed over the years and nobody knows what it is, so we have a sample matched. Either way, we seal the repair and paint the wall from corner to corner, so there's no patch outline for the eye to catch.

The climate affects the finish here. Humidity slows the drying of plaster and paint, so some repairs need a return visit. Bathrooms and laundries often have mould on the ceiling, which needs cleaning and treating before any paint goes on, or it comes straight back. Our painting goes with our repairs, so for a full-house repaint you're better off with a dedicated painter. We're based in Hope Island and plan visits further south ahead.

What we do

Patch and paint jobs on the Gold Coast

  • End-of-lease repairs

Hook holes, bracket holes, scuffed corners and door handle dents in Gold Coast rentals, filled, sealed and painted before the final inspection. Send photos and the date and we'll tell you if it fits in one visit.

  • Holiday let touch-ups

Luggage marks, knocked corners and small holes in holiday apartments around Surfers Paradise and Burleigh Heads, repaired and painted around your bookings, with drying time allowed for between coats.

  • Getting ready to sell

A room-by-room run through a home before it's listed: old repairs that show, cracked corners, dents and marks fixed and painted, so the walls look cared for in the photos and at the open home.

  • New-home touch-ups

Settling cracks, screw pops and knocks from moving in, patched and painted in homes around Coomera, Pimpama and Helensvale, using the builder's colour schedule so the paint matches.

  • Mould-marked ceilings

Bathroom and laundry ceilings with mould spots and peeling paint. We clean and treat the mould, repair any soft board, then seal and repaint with a paint suited to damp rooms.

  • Doors and trims after repairs

Doors we've repaired or hung, plus their frames and architraves, painted to match the rest of the house, including weathered front doors on coastal homes once we've fixed the timber.

Local conditions

Getting a good finish on the coast

  • The builder's colour schedule

If your home was built in the last decade or so, the builder probably recorded every paint colour and sheen. Look in your handover paperwork or ask the builder. Having the exact colour makes a repair blend in far better than a matched sample.

  • Mould before paint

In humid Gold Coast bathrooms and laundries, mould grows on ceilings and around windows. Painting straight over it doesn't work, because it grows back through the new paint. We clean and treat it first, and suggest better ventilation if it keeps returning.

  • Timing around guests and tenants

Plaster and paint both dry more slowly in humid weather. For a holiday let or a rental with a set inspection date, tell us early. Larger repairs may need two visits, and we'd rather plan that properly than leave a patch that shows.

FAQ

Paint & plaster questions

Can you use the touch-up paint my builder left?

Yes, if it's still in good condition. Paint that has been stored in a hot Gold Coast garage for years can separate or thicken, so we'll check it first. If it's past its best, we can have a fresh tin made in the same colour from the builder's schedule.

Can you fix the walls before my end-of-lease inspection?

Yes, if you give us enough notice. Send photos of each mark or hole and the inspection date. Most small repairs are filled, sealed and painted in a visit or two, depending on drying time. Check your lease or with your property manager about what repairs they expect.

Will the painted patch show in a bright room?

Not if it's done properly. Lots of Gold Coast homes have big windows and light walls, which show any edge or change in sheen. That's why we seal the repair and paint the whole wall to the corners, using the same sheen as the rest of the room.

Do you paint whole rooms or houses?

We paint walls and ceilings that go with our repairs, and sometimes that means a whole room so the finish is even. For a full interior or exterior repaint of a Gold Coast house, a dedicated painting company is the better choice, and we're happy to do the repairs first and leave the walls ready for them.
