Door supply & installation

Door installation in Brisbane and the Gold Coast

New doors that close with one finger, latch first time and stay that way. We supply and hang front, internal, sliding and custom doors across Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

Hung properly

A door is only as good as the way it's hung

A beautiful new door will still rub, swing open by itself or let the rain in if the frame is out of plumb. Most of the door problems we're called to fix come from doors that were hung quickly. So every installation starts with the frame: we check it for plumb, square and twist, pack and fix it where needed, then hang the door to suit.

We fit everything from a single hollow-core bedroom door to a solid timber entry door with sidelights. If you've already chosen a door, we'll install it. If you haven't, we'll help you pick one that suits your home and the Queensland weather, order it, and handle the lot: hinges, handles, locks, door stops and seals.

We work across Brisbane and the Gold Coast, from Queenslanders in Brisbane's inner suburbs to new builds and canal homes on the coast. Older houses often have frames that have moved over the years, and we're used to making a new door sit right in an opening that isn't.

What we do

Doors we supply and install

  • Front entry doors

Solid timber, glazed, pivot and painted entry doors, fitted with weather seals and a quality deadlock so they stay quiet and dry.

  • Internal doors

Hollow-core and solid-core doors for bedrooms, bathrooms, laundries and studies, hung with even gaps and fitted with handles.

  • Cavity sliding doors

New cavity sliders and replacement doors in existing cavities, set up with smooth tracks and soft-close where you want it.

  • Barn & feature doors

Wall-mounted barn doors and statement doors, with the track fixed properly into the framing.

  • Pre-hung & frame replacement

Full door-and-frame replacements where the old jamb is damaged, rotted or out of square, finished with new architraves.

  • Hardware & finishing

Hinges, lever sets, deadbolts, door closers, stops and seals, plus trimming and sealing every edge so the door doesn't swell.

Time for a new door when…

  • The door has swollen, delaminated or cracked and won't close properly anymore
  • Hollow-core doors have holes or damage that can't be patched neatly
  • Your front door lets in light, drafts or rain around the edges
  • You want better security than the original door and lock can give
  • You're renovating and want doors that match the new look
  • The frame is rotten or damaged and the door can't be adjusted any further

What affects the price

  • The type of door: hollow-core, solid-core, solid timber or custom
  • Whether the frame can be reused or needs replacing
  • Hardware: locks, handles, closers and seals
  • Painting or oiling the new door
  • How many doors are done in the one visit

Send a photo of the door and its frame, and roughly where you are, and we'll come back with a clear fixed quote.

FAQ

Door installation questions

Can you supply the door, or do I need to buy it?

Either works. We can supply the door and all the hardware, or install one you've already bought. If you're buying it yourself, send us the size and type first so we can check it suits the opening.

How long does it take to install a door?

Most internal doors in an existing frame are done in a few hours. A front door with a new frame, or a cavity slider, can take most of a day. We'll give you a time on the quote.

Will a standard door fit my older Brisbane home?

Older Queenslanders often have non-standard openings, so a stock door may need trimming or a made-to-measure door. We measure on site and tell you which one you need before anything is ordered.

Do you paint or oil the new door?

Yes. All six edges of a timber door need sealing so it doesn't swell in Queensland's humidity. We can prime and paint or oil the door as part of the job, or leave it ready for your painter.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Multi House Services holds QBCC Carpenter Contractor Licence 338940C and is fully insured. New door installations come with a 3-month workmanship warranty.
