A planned suburb with ageing fit-outs
Robina was built as a master-planned suburb, and you can see it in the layout: curving streets, lakes and parks, and a town centre at its heart with the train station and stadium close by. Much of the housing is brick and tile from the 1980s and 1990s, with newer estates, townhouse complexes and lakeside homes added since. Many of the earlier homes are now 30 years old or more.
A house of that age is usually solid, but its fit-out is showing its years. Original sliding robe doors stick or jump their tracks. Timber fences lean. Internal doors are scuffed and dated. Ceilings and cornices crack as the house has moved through many wet and dry seasons. These are typical jobs in homes like these, and most of them can be done without a full renovation.

Robe refits, not just repairs
Many original robes have a single shelf, one rail and mirrored sliders on a tired track. We can fix the doors, or strip the inside and fit new shelving, double hanging and drawers, with new doors if the old ones are past saving.
Updating internal doors
New internal doors are one of the simpler ways to freshen up an older home. We hang new doors in the existing frames, adjust any frames that have moved, and fit new hinges, handles and door stops so everything matches through the house.
Fences that came with the estate

Can you replace the mirrored robe doors in my Robina home?
Yes. We can replace old mirrored sliders with new doors on a new track, or change to hinged doors if the opening suits. If the robe frame is sound, we fit the new doors to it. Send a photo of the robe with the doors open, plus the width and height of the opening.
Do you come to Robina for smaller jobs?
Yes, but because Robina is one of our longer trips, it helps to group a few jobs together. A sticking door, a loose gate and a couple of plaster patches make a sensible visit. Send everything at once with photos and we'll quote it as one job, so you're not paying for the drive twice.

Usually, yes. Frames in 1980s and 90s brick homes often suit standard door sizes, but many have moved a little over the years. We check each frame for square, then trim and hang the new door to suit and fit new hinges and handles, so it closes cleanly first time.
