Gold Coast
A local carpenter for the whole job
Haziza House Services is Isaac, a QBCC licensed carpenter with more than 26 years in the trade, working from Hope Island. If you've been searching for a local carpenter on the Gold Coast, the useful part is that we're already here. Sanctuary Cove is minutes away, Coomera and Helensvale are about a quarter of an hour, Paradise Point and Runaway Bay are a regular run, and we plan trips to Southport, Surfers Paradise, Robina and Burleigh Heads ahead.
The range is wide because Gold Coast homes are. We hang and replace doors, build and restore decks, put up timber fences and side gates, build batten screens, fit skirting and architraves, build wardrobes and shelving, frame and sheet new walls, and replace timber that rot or termites have ruined once a pest controller has treated it. Having one carpenter cover all of that means a renovation finishes with matching trims, square openings and doors that actually close, instead of three trades blaming each other.
Working on the coast changes how we do it. Salt air rusts ordinary nails and screws, so outdoor work near the Broadwater, the canals or the beach gets stainless fixings. Humidity makes timber swell and shrink through the year, so we let boards settle before fixing them and seal cut ends. If a job needs a plumber, electrician, engineer or pest controller first, we'll tell you when we quote rather than halfway through.
What we do
Carpentry we do on the Gold Coast
Batten screens for outdoor living
Hardwood batten screens around pool areas, courtyards, air-con units and bin bays, spaced to let the sea breeze through while blocking the neighbour's view, and fixed with stainless screws so they don't streak in salt air.
Skirting and architraves after new floors
When tiles come up and timber or hybrid flooring goes down, the old skirting rarely fits. We remove it, fit new skirting scribed to the new floor, replace damaged architraves and leave every mitre tight and ready for paint.
Timber repairs after termites
Termites are active across the Gold Coast. Once a licensed pest controller has treated the house, we cut out and replace damaged door frames, skirting, window reveals, stud sections, fence posts and deck framing.
Weathered sills and trims
Timber window sills, door jambs and exterior trims on older brick homes and beach houses go soft where rain and salt spray sit. We replace the rotten timber, match the profile as closely as we can and seal it properly.
New-home carpentry
In new homes around Coomera, Upper Coomera and Pimpama, we fit the extras the builder left out: robe shelving, extra blocking for TVs, solid-core doors, stair treads that creak, and trims around openings that were never finished neatly.
Small framing jobs
Widening a doorway in a non-load-bearing wall, framing a study nook or niche, closing in an opening or replacing a rotten bottom plate. If the wall might carry load, we'll tell you it needs an engineer before anything is cut.
Local conditions
What Gold Coast timber has to handle
Salt on every fixing
Near the Broadwater, the canals and the beach, plated nails and screws rust within a few seasons and leave black stains down the timber. On screens, gates, steps and trims that live outside, stainless fixings are worth the extra cost every time.
Timber that moves with the weather
A humid Gold Coast summer swells timber and a dry winter shrinks it again. Boards fixed too tight buckle, and joins fixed in winter can open up by summer. We allow for that movement and seal end grain, so the work stays straight.
Homes of every age
In one week we might work on a gated Sanctuary Cove home, a 1980s brick house in Robina and a new build in Coomera. Each has different framing, trims and timber, so we look at what's there and match it rather than using one standard approach.

FAQ
Carpentry questions
Are you a licensed carpenter?
Yes. Haziza House Services holds QBCC Carpenter Contractor Licence 338940C and is fully insured. Isaac has more than 26 years' experience in carpentry and building work, and new installations come with our 3-month workmanship warranty.
Is there a carpenter near me on the northern Gold Coast?
If you're in Hope Island, Sanctuary Cove, Coomera, Helensvale, Paradise Point or Runaway Bay, we're close by. Our base is in Hope Island, so a quick look at a job or a return visit isn't a long drive. We also cover Southport, Surfers Paradise, Robina and Burleigh Heads, with those jobs planned ahead.
Can one carpenter handle a list of different jobs?
Yes, and it's how a lot of our Gold Coast work comes in. A sticking door, new skirting in one room, a gate that drags and a few shelves can often be done in the same visit. Send photos of each item with your suburb and we'll quote them together.
Which timber should I use for outdoor carpentry on the coast?
For screens, steps and trims that live outside, dense hardwoods like spotted gum, blackbutt or merbau hold up well in sun and salt air, as long as they're oiled or painted and fixed with stainless screws. Treated pine suits painted work and fence framing. We'll suggest what suits your job and budget.
Do you work in gated estates and body corporate complexes?
Yes. Many Hope Island and Sanctuary Cove homes, and some in the newer northern estates, sit inside communities with their own guidelines for anything visible from the street. Check those first for outside work like screens, doors or fences. We can give you sizes and timber details to include with your request.
