Local handyman in Brisbane

Bring us a proper list. Brisbane is a longer drive from our base, so we plan each visit ahead and get through as many of your odd jobs as we can in one go.

Brisbane

Make the trip count

We're based in Hope Island, so Brisbane jobs are a longer run for us: roughly 30 to 60 minutes up the M1, depending on the suburb and the traffic. Beenleigh, Logan and Springwood are the closer end, while Mount Gravatt, Carindale and the bayside suburbs take longer. We don't offer same-day call-outs to Brisbane. Instead we book visits ahead, and that works best when there's a solid list of jobs waiting for us.

Brisbane homes give that list plenty of variety. In older suburbs like Coorparoo, Camp Hill and Holland Park, it's often doors that bind in old frames, loose trims and skirting, worn stair treads and timber that needs patching rather than replacing. In 1960s to 1980s brick homes around Mount Gravatt and Carindale, it's tired hinges, cupboard doors, fly screens and holes from decades of fittings. Rentals in Logan and Beenleigh tend to need repairs between tenants.

We handle the carpentry, door, wall and fixing jobs on your list with the same care we put into bigger work. We don't do electrical or plumbing, so if something on your list needs a sparky or a plumber, we'll point it out when we quote, before the visit is booked. That way the day goes on jobs we can actually finish, and you know what to arrange with other trades.

What we do

Handyman jobs we do in Brisbane

  • Older home fixes

Loose skirting and architraves re-fixed, split trims replaced, sticking doors eased in out-of-square frames and worn timber patched. The small carpentry jobs that older Brisbane homes collect over the years.

  • Stairs, verandahs and handrails

A soft stair tread, a loose handrail, a verandah board that's split right through. We replace the damaged timber and re-fix what's loose, so a small problem doesn't turn into a bigger, more expensive one.

  • Rental turnarounds

For landlords and tenants in Logan, Springwood and Beenleigh: wall holes patched, door stops fitted, fly screens re-meshed, loose handles and towel rails re-fixed. Send photos and your inspection date and we'll tell you if the timing works.

  • Shelves, hooks and hanging

Shelving, mirrors, artwork, hooks and curtain rails hung level and fixed into the framing. In older homes with timber or fibrous plaster walls, we choose fixings that suit what's actually behind the surface.

  • Doors, cupboards and screens

Cupboard doors realigned, worn hinges and catches replaced, fly screens repaired and screen doors adjusted so they close properly. The everyday annoyances that are easy to live with until someone finally fixes them.

  • Pre-sale tidy-ups

Before the photographer comes through, we work down your list: patch the walls, ease the doors, replace tired handles and fix the loose bits buyers notice. It's a good way to use a full visit from us.

Local conditions

What Brisbane homes need from a handyman

  • Old timber, old fixings

Older Brisbane homes have hardwood frames, VJ walls and decades of previous repairs. Screws strip, nails have rusted and trims have been painted over many times. Small jobs take a bit more care in these houses, and a carpenter is the right person to do them.

  • Rentals between tenants

Logan, Springwood and Beenleigh have plenty of rental homes, and small repairs pile up between tenants. A single visit with a written list and photos is usually the most efficient way to get a property back into shape before the next lease starts.

  • Weather on raised homes

Highset homes and Queenslanders have stairs, verandahs and exposed timber that cop Brisbane's hot sun and summer storms. Loose handrails, soft treads and split boards are common, and they're worth fixing early, before they turn into a safety problem for someone.

FAQ

Handyman questions

What's the smallest Brisbane job you'll take on?

Because Brisbane is a longer drive from our Hope Island base, a single small job on its own usually isn't good value for you once travel is included. A list is different. If you've got several jobs around the house, send them through with photos and we'll tell you what we can get done in one visit.

How far ahead should I book a Brisbane handyman visit?

It depends on how busy we are at the time, and we'll give you a likely date with the quote. Because we plan Brisbane visits ahead rather than doing same-day call-outs, it helps to get in touch well before any deadline, like an end-of-lease inspection or a house going on the market.

Do you do handyman jobs for landlords and property managers?

Yes. We do the carpentry, door, screen and wall repairs that come up in rental homes across Logan, Springwood, Beenleigh and Brisbane's south. Send the list and photos, plus who we should arrange access with, and we'll come back with a quote. Plumbing and electrical items need their own licensed trades.

Which Brisbane suburbs do you cover for handyman work?

Mainly Brisbane's south and east, including Mount Gravatt, Holland Park, Coorparoo, Camp Hill, Carindale, Wynnum and Capalaba, along with Springwood, Logan and Beenleigh. If you're not sure whether we come to your suburb, send it through with your list and we'll let you know.
